Box Hill Institute has been a leader in contemporary music education since 1983. In this time, Box Hill has trained 1000’s of musicians, producers and engineers. Our programs have delivered Grammy Winning Engineers, ARIA winning and nominated artists, our students have gone on to work with Hans Zimmer, Blizzard Games, Angus and Julia Stone, Missy Higgins, Courtney Barnett, and more.
We offer training in Performance, Production, Recording, Music Business, Composition, Game Audio, Film, TV and Game Composition. This is done through either dedicated short courses or our accredited programs. Box Hill Institute music offers accredited training including certificate 3, certificate 4, Diploma, Degree, Graduate Diploma and Masters Level. Across our programs, students have access to a number of Ableton Live focused classes. These include, live performance, studio production, beat cyphers and Max/MSP/Max for Live.
Students have access to 3 world class recording studios, 3 high end production suites, 3 Mac computer labs, MIDI controllers including Push 2 units, a good collection of analogue synths and outboard gear. Our students get access to these facilities for their studies and own projects while they are studying with us.
Our Ableton programs are focused initially at foundational skills in a music and live performance context, and develop through to using Ableton and Max for Live in an artistic multi-discipline environment.
