Oscillators

DiGiTAL’s two oscillators can produce a vast variety of sounds. Each oscillator’s waveform is mathematically created by additive synthesis and frequency modulation, and is then stored in a wavetable which can be modulated itself. Along with presets for standard waveforms, DiGiTAL lets you make your own waveshapes by directly drawing partials, their amplitude and phase, as well as the frequency modulation and its phase. So, is it additive synthesis? Is it wavetable? Is it FM or subtractive synthesis? It’s all of these and more.

Filter / Envelopes / LFO

For refining and animating the raw waveforms, DiGiTAL provides a multi-mode filter and two LFOs with seven different waveforms and adjustable phase. Four ADSR envelopes let you shape the amplification, filter, pitch and additional modulation. The pitch envelope has the ability to inverse its action in order to achieve a rising or falling pitch modulation.

Additional features

DiGiTAL’s sound shaping capabilities go even deeper with a modulation matrix for precisely animating various parameters of your sound. There’s also an on-board chorus and EQ for fattening up and sculpting your sound, a tunable sub-oscillator, extra FM modulation and global saturation/distortion settings – all providing virtually endless potential for creating new sounds.

Sequencer

Taking inspiration from the vintage Oberheim 2-Voice synthesizer, DiGiTAL comes with a powerful dual-purpose sequencer. While the parameter sequencer is always active and selectable as source in the modulation matrix, activating the note sequencer gives you control over note value, velocity, length and muting per step. The sequencer offers four different playback modes and, like the LFOs, can be free running or synced to the global tempo.
